Meet Ababyou.

This young man was 13 when we met. He was there playing football day one when we began. He is still participating to this day.

Ababyou has a father- somewhere- and some other relatives in a far off area. His mother died when he was younger and does not seem to have a good relationship with his father. One day I remember when one boy said to him "someone who looks like your father is looking for you," and Ababyou did not seem too interested, but a couple days later was gone.

Shortly after he returned. He had visited a family member for a few days.

Upset he's only one without his uniform. Eagerly waits for his!

This young man is quite smart. When I first met him he was attending night school, but there difficulties were many. He could not afford supplies or eat regularly. I remember one day he left me to go study. At that time he was in grade 4. But shortly after all this he left school because he was unable to participate regularly with the many troubles he faced daily.

He has a sweet smile and can flatter and convince like the best of them!

The other side of Ababyou: He is manipulative and double sided! He has quite the attitude and wants what he wants. Now, this is not a bad thing all together! We love Abayou. He is in survival mode and lost his mother whom he clearly loved very much. He lives, sleeps, and exists on the dusty hopeless streets and is in that awkward boy to man stage. (He grew about 6 inches in the 6 months I knew him!)

What is amazing about this boy is that despite being intentionally left out of first round uniforms (He is not trustworthy, so was not in the priority list) and has not yet gotten a place to live, or a business, and I have shouted at him because of his attitude. He has stolen, and I have had to personally reprimand him, he is still around. He is the "least of these" of Club Anbesa but still he is the first and is very active!

It is Ababyou- as a matter of fact- who originally chose the name "Anbesa" for the club, and it stuck!

His ability and charisma won him the right to wear the medal!

Please pray for and consider giving on behalf of this young growing man who needs good role models, and a good opportunity to grow into a man from his unfortunate boyhood. He is a diamond in the rough!
