Back to School

While all the kids are getting ready to hit the books, the boys of Club Anbesa wait through the rain.

The Ethiopian New Year is about September 11 each year, and the new school year starts usually within a week of that.

It is the plan of most Club Anbesa boys to attend night school so they can continue to work and practice during the day. While many kids here in the States dread going back to studying, the boys of Club Anbesa relish in the hope of an education, which seems like an impossibility for most of them.

We are right now planning and organizing to get the boys all registered and prepared with proper school supplies.

You can help! Make a donation of any size through Paypal to send these eager street boys onto their future!

UPDATE: September 4, 2013
I have just finished a phone conversation with Manager Yibe. About half the boys will be attending day school because of their grade level and need for additional teacher time. These boys also will need uniforms. A student list will be posted as soon as all the boys are registered!

Back to School donations!
